Situated in Muzha of Taipei City (near the National Chengchi University), Taipei City Zoo opened in 1986 and is now one of the largest zoos in Asia covering an area of 182 hectares.

Taipei City Zoo contains a variety of indoor and outdoor exhibits that include a vast array of animals as well as marine creatures. Some of these exhibits include the Penguin exhibit, Desert animal exhibit, Nocturnal animal exhibit, and many more. Guided tours are available upon request at the Taipei City Zoo. During holidays, Taipei City Zoo has been a popular place for families to spend their leisure time. Recently Taipei City Zoo has become even more of a hot spot for Taipei citizens as well as foreigners because of the newly installed Maokong cable car.
